Connection failed to printer

Hi !
I try to solve a problem in the company I work for.
We have a Creatr Leapfrog but i can't connect it with Simplify3D.
I followed the instruction manual available on the leapfrog website, installed arduino drivers but when I run Simplify3D, all I get is :
"Attempting connection at COM3...
Testing plaintext communication protocol...
Testing binary communication protocol...
Attempting RTS reset and trying again...
Connection failed."

I'm running windows XP on the machine which should connect to the printer.
I didn't find that much informations on this problem, so I ask here if someone can help :(
Thank you !

Re: Connection failed to printer

I'm having the same problem trying to talk to a RAMPS 1.4 via USB from a MacBook Pro running 10.6.8. The Arduino is set up for 200K baud. Creator tells me that 200K baud is not natively supported by Mac OS, however I am able to talk to this printer using Repetier Host without any problems. I'd really like to be able to use Creator with this printer.

Julia did you email support or clayton? They are usually quick to respond and would probably have an answer for you.

Hi Julia,
Mac dosent work fine with the Baudrate of 250000. If you change it to 115200 your printer will work well i think.
(the baudrate on your Host(Simplify3D) and your Firmware(Repetier,Marlin,Sprinter?) have to be the same.

Hm, well, Repetier Host has no apparent problem talking to my RAMPS board at 200K. In any case it may be moot since I'll probably be using Win7 on my dedicated printing PC moving forward. Um, does my Creator license get me use of the Win version too, or do I have to buy another license?

EDIT: Repetier Host works on Macintosh at 250K, I meant to say. Creator works at 250K on Windows, and yes, my license key worked :)

Yes I have the same problem, Repieter Host works AOK at full baud rate, simplify doesn't and had to change my controller back to 115200 to get it working, but for me thats just a work around until this bug is fixed.

Re: Connection failed to printer

I have just purchased and installed Simplify3D for my first 3D Printer.
It's a new Turningy Fabirikator Mini II.
It Works and Connects well with the new Version of Repetier-Host.

But surprisingly not with Simplify 3D's Machine Control Panel.

The COM-Port get's found as \\.\COM6 on my Windows 10.
The Baud Rate is adjusted to 15520, which is the same as with the working Repetier-Host connection.

The verbose output says:
Attempting connection at \\.\COM6...
Testing plaintext communication protocol...
Testing binary communication protocol...
Testing alternate communication protocols...
Connection failed.

So - let me know what could be wrong?

Re: Connection failed to printer

I had to execute "Mode Com5: Baud=250000 Parity=N Data=8 Stop=1" in windows command line to resolve the same issue with me.
