Printing top layer using bridging settings

I want to print an object with minimal infill, but when I do so the top layers sag - to be expected. BUT, from my bridging tests I can span distances well greater than this top layer distance with no sagging. So why is it I can bridge layers in the middle of the print for a long distance, but the top layers can't go that far?

I have my bridging settings at 150% speed, 90% extrusion. How do I tell S3D to use those same settings when printing the same top layer? I'd rather not add extra infill.

Thanks!

That is because these layers are not detected as bridges by default. You can use multiple process - Start and stop height feature to split the top process . And for the top process, you can control the fan speed, print speed etc similar to bridging overrides.

The top layers have their own adjustment settings. You can set the "solid infill underspeed" on the Other tab if you want to print that layer slower for better performance.
