Angled Supports

I would like to see an option to create angled supports.
For example let's say you have an overhang 3" above the bed. Instead of having supports growing up from the bed, you have supports that grow from the side of the part up at an angle to the overhang. 45-deg should work fine, although a selectable angle would be best.
Benefits: More stable supports when they need to reach high. Faster. Uses less material.
Cons: None that I can think of.

Use Meshmixer's Overhangs feature to generate such support, then import it into Simplify3D

Thanks for the workaround possibility, but I'm looking for this feature to be added to Simplify3D.

I would like to second that request for angled support. I have had supports break off the bed after printing for 3" in the Z axis, very discouraging. I would volunteer to beta test it if some one wants to make a go of it.

I'm going to "third" this request. I was hoping it appear in 4.0 (which has everything else in it that I was hoping for!)

This is clearly a popular feature request. I hope Simplify3d add this to their software very quickly; especially since this feature already exists in some FREE slicer software packages. Simpify3d is not a cheap option and so having paid around 140 $ I expect the software to be ahead of the FREE competition, not behind it.

I thought for sure they were going to add this for 4.0, there solution is to use the more advanced FREE programs for a work reach around, they didn't even add the eject button for your SD card like the others have.....REALLY

ANGLED SUPPORTS ARE POSSIBLE, NOW!...
- Not native, but doable.
- See video @
https://youtu.be/leA3SY8ZF_A.
- Not doable in all cases, but at least in some.
- So, until if/when proper angled supports are added, here's a way:)
