Simplify3D User Forum

I sometimes make my own custom support when there is a special need. Way back when I use Slic3r I could make a wall that was 200um thick for support and it printed fine but Simplify just ignores those.

So, today I made some custom support that was 400um wide figuring it would be plenty. Took me 20 minutes to make the detailed support I needed but Simplify3D just ignored the support as an invisible wall.

So, my question is does anybody know the thinnest wall that Simplify3D will recognize as printable?

The answer to your question is in your post.

You use a 0.4mm nozzle....that size is directly proportional to the narrowest wall S3D will extrude. To be precise, use the Extrtusion width plus say 5% to guarantee the wall being printed.

You can always set the extrusion width lower if you need to force it to print smaller walls.

In my experience, you're betting using the normal support that S3D generates though instead of trying to force it to print your own supports that you designed in another program.
