Solid Layers between extrusions in dual extrusion.

I am printing a piece with three tool changes to change color.

After I run the wizard I see that every tool change involves a solid layer as the process has the setting in it. My question is if doing this solid layer is necessary, recommended or it's just something that is not needed on middle of the object that is not exposed to the outside. Will this layer help or be a problem of adhesion when the print finishes?

You can turn that off if you want. Just set the top solid layers for the bottom process to zero, and the bottom solid layers of the top process to zero.

Is this a good idea? (turning it off?) Or would it help to leave them there?
