Obtuse Layer Heights

Why does the software use an odd layer height of .2857mm for medium and .1714 for high? I know there has to be logic to these values, I just don't understand why. I'm using a Makerbot Replicator 1 & Printrbot Jr V2.

Re: Obtuse Layer Heights

I thought it was checking the height of yor object and then calculated the layerheight to get an even number of layers?
If you set layer height to 0.15mm and your object is 100mm then you get 666.66 layers, where you cannot print the .66 rest.

It is not calculating anything about your part. I used that default profile layer height back in 2.0.1 but have since switched to the more standard .1,.2,.3 and manual setting of my extrusion width. I have been having great success so far.

Re: Obtuse Layer Heights

version 2.1 seems to have sorted this now and it uses more standard layer heights
