[FIXED] bridging not triggering

no matter how I have set things in bridging, it doesn't show that its triggered/going to use the bridging setting in the preview after slicing. It usually does show it. I even set the threshold down to 0.1 and the speed up to 999 I got nothing baby! this is a fairly new install, Win10, tons of RAM and chip speed. threshold 1,inflation 2, EX multiplier 85, SP multiplier 130. It should be printing from the inside out, I have 2 outside perimeter line and no inner lines. yellow or otherwise.Image

Re: bridging not triggering

Really need more info on settings and a full view of the model. Could the bridge layer be in the realm of the number of "roof" layers?

What is the "area" setting for bridging? set to a low low number, like 5mm squared or something. Oh and perimeters never "bridge" yet I think they should. Maybe a bug that will be fixed one of these years.

Re: bridging not triggering

I can get you a picture of the model in the morning as the slicer is tied up at the moment.

there is my FFF https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4Zua ... VNrWDZRaVU

Re: bridging not triggering

Hi,

maybe you forgott to adjust the coloring for "feature type" ?
Unfortunately, Simplify do the bridging outlines with same speed as "normal" outlines.
You can not see the "real" bridging in your picture !
Bridging is displayed as yellow straigth lines .
Post the .stl file and i will show you...

Re: bridging not triggering

I'm wondering that the screen shot in the first post has been taken whilst running through the simulation on a line by line basis....and that the shot has been taken before the slicer had started producing the infill for the first layer over the gap.

With the stated settings, the slicer has just finished the perimeter printing.....the wall is not thick enough for two perimeters, so its just printed one, so the "inside out" setting cannot be followed, as it relates purely to the printing of outlines. The simulation of the nozzle locates it at one end of the area over fresh air...and I bet the next thing it was about to do was either print some bridging (in yellow) if it has established bridging should take place, or print gap fill if it didn't.

The print settings have been provided....which might be useful....but are horrible to read and to me are a waste of time.....but that's me! The picture of the object half sliced and a second of the model might help illustrate the reported issue, but neither really help with resolving the issue. What's needed is the factory file. This contains the model and all the settings....and will allow those wanting to help to recreate the issue, and more importantly, allow them to suggest exact changes , etc. So....please attach a factory file. File menu===>Save factory file.

Re: bridging not triggering

just download it and open it with S3D, easy

no bridge, S3D is making a solid layer in mid-air

The FFF doesn't include the 3D-Model so it is hard for us to reproduce

Well it is not complete in mid-air, since the outlines are printed first ;-)
It also seems like you havent designed you model properly for 3D-Printing.
I think bridging is only triggert when all outline perimeters fit in the wall and then get filled

So I made a similar model for myself. So with a wall thickness of 1.6mm

If you make the wall thicker so that all perimeters fits in, then the infill will trigger the bridging

And that is still showing a years old bug Simplify3D is not fixing. There should be no perimeter on the bridge!!! Those 2 blue lines you have there are a BUG!

Since I don't have had any problems printing this: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:476845
I won't call it a bug. The way bridging works in S3D is to force the infill use the orthogonal direction to the outer parts wich supports the bridge (like the outlines). So it works well for me like it is.
