Layers gaps in preview mode

Hello community

I am experiencing some issues with the slicer with some parts, the preview mode shows some gaps between layers in the preview, not sure if this is a image only issue or the printer will skip those layers when printing. I verify the part with Netfabb and is okay, also the Cura and Repetier software do not show the gaps

The image shows the mentioned gaps:

I have not tried to print yet since is a huge part and do not want to lose material and time

Hi:

I am having the same issue. Cannot find anything wrong with the model. Have tried a number of settings changes but always get the same results.

Have you tried running the Repair checks in S3D? Does it find non-manifold or self-intersecting surfaces? If so, you probably need to repair the model first.

You should also post the STL file here if you want more help

Re: Layers gaps in preview mode

I am still having issues with similar models, I used Cura before but I am missing the advanced setting from S3D, I can not share the file since unfornately it is not mine, it is a work I am printing, so I have not the right to share it here

I am 99% sure it is not the file, since changing the slicing setting change the amount and location of the gaps.

I used 'merge all outlines in a single model', which improve the result, but the gaps still remains

Re: Layers gaps in preview mode

Its extremely difficult to offer any sensible assistance when you have nothing but an image of the preview to go on. Please attach a factory file....this will allow someone to view EXACTLY how you have things set up..and they'll be able to offer EXACT changes you can make.
