[FIXED] Thick Walls -> Infill Calculation Infinite Loop

In my current project, I have encountered two models that will cause Simplify3D 4.0 to become stuck trying to calculate infill. All CPU cores are busy and I'm unable to cancel slicing except by force-quitting the whole application. The issue seems to be related to using internal wall single extrusion fill along with a higher number of perimeter shells.

In the first case, I was trying to force certain behavior by specifying 5 outer walls. It's a relatively simple model from Fusion360 and doesn't have any topology etc issues that I know of. I tried to reproduce the issue for this post, but the current version of that model doesn't cause the hang anymore.

The second case is a slightly more complicated object, but it should still be good geometry (Fusion360 seems to be pretty good at that) and it causes the slicer to hang even with three walls. This one is still easily reproduced using the current version of the model I'm printing.

Well...have you provided S3D with a copy of the factory file for the model you can replicate the issue with??

Not doing so is like dangling a carrot...and then whipping it away when anyone tries to get it! And don't forget it makes it very difficult for them to actually fix the issue if they can't replicate it themselves.

I guess that's done through contacting support... I'll do that.

This issue has now been fixed in Version 4.0.1. The examples files that we have received will now slice correctly (and quickly) instead of taking longer during the "calculating infill" stage.

Thank you for reporting the problem!
