loading simplify3d in linux mint

I am trying to load Simplify3D v4.0 in a linux OS using Mint.

When I try to launch the program I get the message ...
"This installer requires root priveleges. Please become superuser before executing the installer"

I can't figure out how to become "superuser" other than via the terminal.

Is it easier to use a terminal command to load the program? If so, I would appreciate some help with this command.

Thanks in advance for your help

Try running the AddUserPermissions.sh script in the S3D install folder

Also, when installing, never choose to run S3D immediately (I believe you have to uncheck a box).

I do this out if habit, so it may have changed with 4.0, but otherwise it sets root as owner.
