Simplify3D User Forum

Still basically new to S3D so I need some help with this. Don't look at the white as I know I'm gonna slow down on the final print and change the resolution from 2 to 1. This is just a rough print on to save some print time. How can I get rid of the stringing problem on this print. Right now my S3D setting are as follows.
Layer Height .1 mm
Speed 1500 mm/min
Retraction Distance 10.00 mm
Vertical Lift .10 mm
Retraction Speed 5000 mm/min
Coasting Distance .20 mm

I'm not sure what kind of retraction settings to use so any help would be great. Thx in advance.

Extruder could be to hot for the material used?
In the extruder tab the retraction distance seem a little high
Retraction Distance : 3.5
Retraction Vertical lift: 1.0
Retraction speed: 1200

in the Advanced tab
under Ooze Control Behavior
Check Minimum travel for retraction and set to a small number such as 3.0
if the travel is less than this then no retraction will occur.
and nothing else is check in the Ooze Control Behavior

Again if the temperature is set too high for the material stringing will be a problem.

Those marks on the right side also looks like nozzle scratches to me. https://www.simplify3d.com/support/prin ... op-surface

Do you have a direct drive or a bowden? Since you retract 10mm it looks more like a bowden... 3.5 like gearsaw suggested, seems more like a direct drive setting.

In my setup I found too fast and to far would rip the filament apart where it is heated. also introducing air pockets which cause all sorts of problems. Just need enough to release the pressure if not just a little negative pressure
