Blobs and Zits

I recently got my Davinci Pro back into working condition with an E3DV6 hotend and running into issues with blobs and lines when printing the 3DBenchy test model.

I've tried adjusting the retraction settings based on troubleshooting article here https://www.simplify3d.com/support/prin ... s-and-zits, but nothing seems to help. Interestingly, XYZWarePro prints it fine....and if I print it again with Simplify3D right afterwards, it prints much better. If I power down the printer and then try to print it again in Simplify3D, the problem resurfaces.

My suspicion is that XYZWare is sending some g-code to the printer that persists across print jobs that Simplify3D is not. Is there any g-code commands that I need to add to the starting script to get around this issue? How do I export or convert 3w files produced by XYZWare to gcode so that I can compare with the gcode produced by Simplify3d?

I have the same issue.

I actually thought to get better quality prints with Simplify3D. I like it you can make a lot more settings like the angles of the infill, and that now I can set the temperature of the heated bed to higher than the 90 degrees.

But whatever I tried, I cannot get rid of blobs and zits... the things I don't have using the XYZpro software....

I spent two full (yes really full 16 hours plus a day) trying all kinds of settings.. retraction changes, temperarature changes.. it oozes and strings at low temps. It blobs and zits all over....
