Detect broken filaments

Hello I am a newbie here, my language is German, so please excuse my bad english, but I hope still to be understood.
I print with a Leapfrog Creatr. The pressure is working properly. Unfortunately, there is the material of the filament coils interruptions. After a few hours of pressure suddenly missing material and the printer will continue with print in air. The result will be useless and the printed material is lost.
Here I had to consider the idea of the existence of the filament with a switch and set the software to pause at the interruption. Therefore, the software with an interface would have to have and execute the operation pause in pulse for external impulses. So that the printer and the software would stop a synchronous execute until the process can be continued after the re-feeding of the filament.
Is there already a solution,if not this is a suggestion to the development team of Symplify 3D in this direction to develop.
Sincerely,

Re: Detect broken filaments

It is a firmware thing, not software.
BTW our printers will do that, starting May deliveries (park heads into "filament change" mode when there is a "missing filament" condition).

Now, if only we could get to know where to insert (v 2.1) the filament cost....
