Simplify3D User Forum

Hey guys, trying to get rid of the green zig-zag infill (Thin Wall.jpg). I have tried altering thin wall behavior and nothing seems to change. The only way I can change this is to change my layer height from 0.300 to 0.210 or lower. When I change to 0.210 layer height than I get a smooth 2 outer shells as expected (Thin Wall 2.jpg).

Changing thin wall parameters have no effect because that's no way anywhere near being a thin wall!

Can you attach a factory file for this part so someone can see exactly what is happening. Two screenshots are totally inadequate.

First of all, I was under the impression this is a support forum so I don't know where you learned how to talk to people but you really need to work on your mannerism! Secondly, I am a new user on Simplify and maybe have gotten my terminology incorrect so how about helping me instead of being critical.

I do however appreciate the help and have attached my Factory file for your review.

So you're aware, this forum is provided by Simplify3D....which for most of the time is where their involvement ends. Virtually all of the users on here are S3D users with no connections whatsoever with Simplify3D.....and many answer requests for help and questions as a friendly gesture to other users of the software, to help the user community as a whole. My comments on my reply above were not intended to insult or demean anybody. It was just the way I says things!

Back to your question....

You are getting the wiggly lines as part of a solid infill area the slicer has identified behind the steeply sloping surface of the part. This infill cannot be got rid of....but you can make it better by changing the External Infill Pattern on the Infill tab to Concentric. This will change the appearance of any top surface....but it will probably make it look less abrupt.
