MakerGear M2 V3B default Extrusion Width set to manual?

On a fresh install of S3D 2.1 I notice the default Extrusion Width for a Makergear M2 V3B printer is set to manual 0.35. When I changed it to auto the value seems to change to 0.42 - is this a bug?

Can anyone tell me exactly what the effect of the extrusion width setting is? If this setting was incorrectly set to 0.35 instead of 0.42 what would the symptoms be?

I noticed this too. The "auto" width used to be 0.48 and it is now 0.42 for both the V3a and V3b.

Does anyone know why this would have changed?

in older versions of s3d the auto width setting was a bit wide for the nozzle. with the stock .35 nozzle and a layer height of .15 the width was .64 i believe and as you increase the height the width would get narrower. now with the auto its been imo corrected. .42 is the min width you can print at and get really good and consistent extrusion. if you look on the makergear website somewhere it says that the .35 nozzle actually extrudes plastic at .42. you shouldnt print at less width than this. you always want to print at a slightly wider width that you nozzle so you have good adhesion with the previous layer.
