When printing its weird the print starts half way to the bed and prints up in the air..
I have tried the same stl file with pronterface and slic3 and seems to print correct...
so i assume i have a setting messed up in simplify3d. any suggestions..

Check the Advanced tab and make sure "Start printing at height" isn't checked.

Checked it out, but the printing height was not checked.
I did run this print before and it ran fine only problem was then heaters heated up to correct temp then when the print started
both heaters turned off and just printed air.
Will try a different stl file and see if i am getting the same results
Thanks gary

Same results starts printing half way to bed it thinks the z has moved to 5.0
also every time the print starts the hot end gets shut off and says def on the lcd the bed stays heating
does s3d use the default firmware loaded to the Arduino? or does it make changes..
I tested the corners and center with repeiter h and every thing was good before i tried printing with s3d
i also did a test print with repeiter and it was good..
So any suggestions

Suggestions so far have been given totally blind!!
Can you attach a factory file to a post, please. File Menu......Save Factory File. Resultant file has suffix of .factory

The rule here is if you ask a question, everyone jumps in to scold you for not posting factory files and screenshots. Then when you post factory files and screen shots, nobody ever replies again. ;P
Sorry my "blind" suggestion didn't help; at least I tried. I hope you figure out the answer to your problem. Mine are still unresolved despite the aforementioned factory file and screenshot postings.
