Correcting axis Steps Per mm (Sailfish)

Hi,

I have a Wanhao Duplicator 4x with the latest beta release of Sailfish.
I'm trying to get the scale of my axis right by printing a 120x120mm thinwalled box, measuring the printed size, finding the difference in percentage and tweaking the appropriate axis Steps Per mm accordingly, but nothing changes.

Previously I did this through the machine xml-file in RecplicatorG, however, using Simplify3D this doesn't seem to have any effect. Furthermore, I have found the Steps Per mm values in Simplify3D under Firmware Configuration -> X3G, but changing them there doesn't appear to come through either.

Am I doing it wrong, is it supposed to work or is there a 'commit'-button somewhere in Simplify3D that I have missed?

I have tried updating the RepG xml, connecting RepG and seeing in the terminal that it is updating the values and then printing from Simplify3D USB connection. Also tried updating both through RepG and S3D and printing over USB. Even tried making some rather big changes in the values so I would feel certain to see a difference but nothing has happened. Seeing that the S3D tab was called X3D I also tried printing with an x3g file from the SD card but same lack of change.

Apart from this, everything else suddenly worked much better when I changed from RepG to S3D so I am extremely happy about it so far. Just need to iron out the last bit of issues.

Cheers

Re: Correcting axis Steps Per mm (Sailfish)

The steps per mm values in S3D only affect things in the Machine Control Panel like jogging (so not a bad idea to set it there too!). However, if you want to use a different steps per mm value than the standard production models, you need to create a custom gpx ini file. See an example here:
https://github.com/whpthomas/GPX/blob/m ... achine.ini

Then you can use the -c flag to load that into GPX for making the x3g files
