I'm new to S3D and have been reading a lot about support structures. But I still have some questions.

1) Is it possible to specify Dense Support Layers per individual supports? Or must that setting apply to the entire print?

2) If I specify 3 Dense Support Layers, S3D prints these both on the top AND the bottom of the support. I do not want/need them on the bottom - only on the top. How do I do that?

3) If I Specify Dense Infill Percentage as 100% and Upper Vertical Separation Layer = 0, is that essentially the same as bonding the support directly to the print?

4) What I'm trying to do is improve the quality on the underside of my print where the supports attach. Is there a way to essentially build a raft on top of the supports?

2) That is how it is for now. Would be nice to be able to select top, bottom or both.
3) Yes, I would think.
4) Not aware of it.

One thing I do is to see if I can build the support using support angles such as 0, 90 and density and resolution to see if I can build a regular support that gives enough coverage for the upper layer without the dense supports where the bottom needs to be clean on the part.
Do the print preview and then lower the layers to see what it looks like and adjust.
