Is there a reasonm S3D puts PLA on the right and PVA on the left?

Why would you put PLA on the right, furthest from the cooling fan? Why would it default to PLA left and PVA right?
I am sure this has been asked many times so thank you for indulging me!
Going to keep searching for answers.

Hi wirlybird,
I'm guessing this is not a S3D setting but part of your printer profile? I have a Felix TEC 4 and the default there is PLA left, PVA right. Now, my printer comes with fans on both sides, so it shouldn't matter for me.
Not sure this helps you, but these are my 2 cents..

It very well could be more specific to the printer and maybe a hold over from the older makerbots that didn't have a fan so it wouldn't really matter!
I'm sure I can just swap it around but was just curious about it!!
Hopefully will be able to do a PVA as dense support test soon!

For swapping the material settings, typically I've found that you'll want to confirm that the extruder settings for left and right are swapped, as well as the temperature settings for left and right. Bed obviously can stay the same.

Yea, good points. Just got PVA in so probably this weekend I'll have time to try it out.
Dual extrusion prints have been going ok so far.
