Re: Recurring Blob Pattern

I am having the same problem on my M2. However, I have a hypothesis that it is related to .STL generation and what software/settings that are used to generate that .STL . I have downloaded a couple of models, circular in nature, from Thingiverse and they print completely fine. However, any of my ow...

Re: Recurring Blob Pattern

Here is something interesting:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFdcTiJqNus

I turned G2/G3 on just to see what effect it would have on the blobs even though I can't yet print with these commands. It seems the layers with blobs are not detected and replaced by arc detection.

Re: Recurring Blob Pattern

Uncheck arc detection in your g-code tab. That should do it I tried another model and got bumps there too: -snip- I just checked and these spikes are present with and without radial arc compensation I just double checked, this does not eliminate the blobs/spikes. I've been fighting the same problem...

Recurring Blob Pattern

I'm getting an odd repeated pattern of blobs that only seems to occur on certain surfaces, usually curved ones. http://i.imgur.com/xxWCEqK.jpg It's hard to tell, but I think I have seen the extruder moving in odd ways on maybe 1 layer out of 30, seemingly as often as the blobs occur. It seems to jer...

Re: Reducing protruding "seam" at perimeter shell join

My problem actually seems to be different, as I'm getting bumps in the same place on every print even with random starting point turned off. I think I'll start a new thread.

Re: Reducing protruding "seam" at perimeter shell join

I'm working on reducing or eliminating these blobs too through trial and error. I'll post if I have any luck. I'm using an M2 by the way, I may make a post about it on the makergear google group if I don't see any results.

Re: 1.1.1 Retraction problem?

Ah yes, I didn't realize you had G2/G3's on. We've seen the same problem here. The Marlin firmware that ships with the M2's has some pretty bad slowdown when it's doing trig calculations for the G2/G3 commands. I've heard that more recent Marlin revisions are better, but I haven't specifically put ...

Re: 1.1.1 Retraction problem?

I'm afraid it is something different with the new version. Here is a video I took of the problem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAzCAPfG5d8 The blobs occur when printing the same gcode file with 1.1.0, but not when generating a new gcode file with the same settings and then printing that with 1.1.0...

1.1.1 Retraction problem?

I seem to be getting a few blobs of plastic in place of retractions upon updating to 1.1.1. I'm not really familiar enough with gcode to be able to tell whether this is actually because of the update or not but the timing seems suspicious. The blobs don't seem to occur on every retract. Here is an a...
