With default settings and positioning of this model looks like S3D is generating support that is parallel to the bridging so it fails. Set your dense support layers to 3 or change your support angle to 90 and try again.

Why don't you post the gcode from those prints? It will be pretty easy to look through it and tell you if the software is properly extruding twice as much plastic as you would expect if the first layer width went to 200%. If so, then the gcode is correct, and it's likely related to bed positioning....

You should always home all axis. (first X Y then Z with separate command or in some cases It'll home in the middle) then run G29 - I find this gives much more consistent results for the bed measurement.

In my mind, both of these settings work exactly as I would expect. If you are needing to extrude a lot more plastic to get a normal layer to fill in properly, then your nozzle is too far away from the build plate. That's probably why you see so many other comments on here talking about the Z-offset...

Why is your extrusion multiplier at 2? What is your nozzle size? Set your first layer height to 300% (for 0.1mm primary layer height), your first layer width to 150, you extrusion multiplier to 1 and extrusion width to your nozzle diameter. I would allow this - no problem but my model isn't perfect and I don's know if it's up to S3D standards

After installing simplify3D 3.0 on 3 computers (Windows) all my STL files are now associated with simplify3D and no longer to Crypto Shell Extensions. I need to have those files associated with Crypto Shell Extensions for updates, etc.. I have not been able to find a work around for this, any sugge...
