Re: Simplify3D Mac as a print Server?

+1 for octopi. I have that and a d-link webcam and works great. Simplify3D does all the slicing. Octopi preheats the printer, sends in the gcode to print and creates a nifty timelapse video of it to boot. That sounds pretty sweet. That might be what I end up doing. Hate to waste the Mac Mini, though.

Re: Printrbot Metal

I added it because it wasnt homing the Z access or using the probe. It just started the print in mid air from the position it was in after adding filament. I opened the same file in Cura and noticed the extra Z0 and pasted it into S3D. I've only noticed this when my machine hasn't been homed since ...

Re: Adjustable infill

This would be a fantastic feature in regards to print quality and would save filament. Currently the only way to get a similar result is by adding more top layers. Most of my prints get pretty nice results from 15% with 3 top layers. If your support could go from 5% -> 25% -> 50% you should be able ...

Simplify3D Mac as a print Server?

Has anyone tried to do this? Suggestions appreciated: Currently I have my Printrbot Metal Plus attached via USB to my Mac Pro and sitting on a desk next to my main desk. It's convenient, but noisy. I have an old Mac Mini and old screen, so I thought about moving the Printrbot into my workshop (maybe...

Re: Brim Printing

I have been using a brim around my models since the very first time. Now it has quite and I have no idea why. I thought it might be not enough of the model touching the build plate but I put a flat modle on it and no brim. Checked and unchecked the box, no luck. Ideas? This relates to a problem I'm...

Re: Great quality but getting delamination

Hey everyone, So I have been printing the same object for the last week trying to get the design down and I recently bumped my temperature down to 210 for Black PLA which gave me an amazing first layer compared to when I printed with 220. I dont have adhesion issues printing at 220 but the quality ...

Re: How to remove support structures from delicate parts

I would also suggest scalpel blades instead of X-acto knife blades. No 11 and No 23 blades work for most situations, but if you go on Amazon you can see a ton of options. 2 weeks ago I picked up a box of 100 blades for $9 and it came with a free blade holder. Scalpel blades are MUCH sharper than X-a...
