Solid layer angle above the infill

I think there is an improvement could be done in S3D.

As shown in this screenshot. The current layer better to turn 90 degree to be pendicular with the infill layer below.

Re: Support Separation in dimensional increments, not layers

This is an old thread. But I see there is a value to it. I am facing the same problem. S3D does support very well and automatically for printing statue type of objects. But when a big flat surface needs a support, if a half layer could be added to the last layer of 100% filled dense support layer, t...

Re: Again, print a tiger with support.

Thanks This is encouraging! I am most interested in separation distance. How can I change the separation distance? I am using 0.2mm layer height. I tried 0.1mm several times, it cannot even bridge through 20% infill on my printer. So I think 0.2mm is what I have to use on my printer. The separation ...

Again, print a tiger with support.

Does the belly look "normal" coming out of S3D?

Thanks

You are right! Thank you!

I did more research online. It looks like the support S3D is doing with single extruder is what the best it can do.

First Layer above the support

This topic has been discussed several times. But I just want to understand some "why nots" better: - Why the first layer is not 45 degree? it is like 20 degree as shown in the attachment 1.jpg. 1.JPG - Is it possible to get the first layer above the support a little less than 1 layer? The ...
