S3D is definitely capable of doing this, but from what I've read, the x3g files don't support it. If you read the protocol for those files, it only supports setting the fan on or off. So basically, if you can find a firmware that supports it, you can easily setup Simplify3D to do it, but right now ...

This sounds initially as it might be a good idea.......but in my opinion impossible to code into the software. Take how to determine the least amount of filament based on rotational position. With a rotational resolution of 10 degrees, the slicer would have to do 36 x 36 x 36 slicing exercises to d...

I printed a 22mm long m3 bolt, nut and washer --- with a 0.3 mm nozzle and a 0.1 layer height. (not with Simply3D - I just did buy this).
The trick was to a) go slow, b) use a layer fan. Without the layer fan, all wobbly, with layer fan - it worked fine and I verified with an actual M3 nut.
