Re: Printing non-manifold surfaces correct way

Thank you for reply, but I still don't understand why this object can't exist. Take plastic bottle, cut off top and bottom, make vertical cut and you will get desired object.

But it seams to me I found solution: giving the thikness to the walls.

Printing non-manifold surfaces correct way

Hi, guys ! I am trying to print a mold with single vertical cut of one polygon  width, but manifold processing don't allow me to do it correctly. Different setting leads to non-desired results: some polys are disappear when "Discard" option is set or new unwanted polys appear when "Heal" is selected...

Re: Raft not generating, Part floating above platform

I have the same issue and found solution to avoid it: making flat bottom of the model done the trick.

Please look at attached images: raft is generating only at the flat part of model's bottom without notches.

Re: Bottom solid layer on perimeter

Thank you very much for detailed explanation - it is very informative, but I am trying to figure out how the algorithm works and how can I get more precision control on it - just for fun and to get better results. Unfortunately I can not look at your sources :)  For the first view situation is littl...

Re: Holes filling tips

Thank very much for suggestions, I found in previous test that thinner layer reduces holes sizes, but did not think about extrusion.

Will continue experiments.

Holes filling tips

Hi, guys ! Could you please suggest me the best way to fill holes without additional perimeter shells (see image) ? I don't want to add them to save printing time and material. I examined all tutorials (was very helpful for other problems), but still don't know what to do with this holes.  Single ex...

Re: Bottom solid layer on perimeter

Thank you very much for suggestion, splitting process done the trick !

But don't you think that default behaviour is little bit strange ? I mean that 'bottom' layers should always be at the bottom.

Hi, guys ! Thank you very much for great software you are doing - best on the market - do doubt.
