Missing HIPS material selection?

I'm new on this forum today, so I might be missing something, but I see I'm not the only one who uses HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene) material for support structures (and sometimes rafts). I cannot find HIPS listed as a choice of material for either extruder (I use a MakerBot Replicator 2X). I can see where you can add it as a choice, but when I quit the program, and come back, it is not there. I set up the choice of printers as Replicator 2X, and the choice of materials lists materials we never use, such as PLA. Can HIPS be added as a standard material? Or am I missing something? My printer is in the shop (Fargo ND), so although I downloaded Simplify3D yesterday, I haven't been able to burn it in, so to speak.

Re: Missing HIPS material selection?

You just need to add the new material. After you add it and configure the temperatures, then you can click "Update Profile" to save the changes permanently. Otherwise, you are just making temporary exits, and your base profile remains unchanged.

This video probably explains is much better than I can: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFynhtvPBPQ

+1

Start with the ABS profile, then click the green "+", name the new material HIPS. :)
