well my point is just to keep it as low as possible. too high and you'll have thin under extruded prints.

So this oooooze is actually on some ABS, not the PET I was originally posting about. For some reason it just seems to ooze a lot. I tried printing at lower temperatures but I did some tests of strength and the lower temperatures broke much easier.

Anyway, on this part I have two parts on either end (about 8 inches apart). As the extruder travels back and forth between each part you can see the little ooze blob that builds up.

So would this be a case where negative restart distance would help? I tried using the extruder ooze setting at 20mm/min but it didn't seem to make any difference at all.

If I'm printing an object that doesn't have these big gaps it doesn't seem to big a deal. This particular object prints some support material around the bottom of the shaft and while it's printing that instead of the actual plastic the ABS extruder is leaking little blobs all over the support material. Not sure which settings can help.
