One problem is that for a wall like that, each face gets a perimeter line. 0.4mm wall like that needs a nozzle smaller than 0.2mm since it's expecting to trace a perimeter for the inner and outer edge.
How I make a part like that is take a full cube (i.e. no hole in the center like in the sample model), and tell the slicer to build one perimeter, no top or bottom layers.

What do you suggest the improvement is?
if the toolhead is wider than a wall, should it print the wall still? I have several prints I've done where I changed the manual toolhead size down to lower than the wall width to get parts to print. I'm not sure having it do that automatically is the right solution or not.

The auto extrusion width uses a 120% calculation, so a nozzle that is .35mm will still produce a 0.42mm trace, which is too big for a 0.4mm wall. You'd have to have a 0.33mm or less nozzle width to get it to slice something with a 0.4mm wall thickness.

The .8 thin wall model I attached was slicing weird also. The slicing wouldn't show anything until the top of the model. I didn't try to print due to this.

I haven't had any luck printing with the auto sized nozzle. I always just choose manual and either set it to the actual nozzle diameter or slightly higher. Not 120% higher though. I did have good luck setting it much smaller on a very tiny print though. I printed a 10mm lens housing with a .2mm thin wall. Set the diameter to .2 and it printed pretty well actually considering the technology. Good enough for a prototype.
But yeah, just set the nozzle diameter to what you want go from there.

It works if I manually set the extrusion width to 0.39mm. You will need a 0.35mm or smaller nozzle to make it work. Even then, it's extruding one line into another.
I'd double check your thickness, I don't believe your 0.8mm wall part is actually 0.8mm wall. I made one up myself for comparison and it's pretty clear your 0.8mm wall square is much thinner.

jd95, yeah i did the same thing and made my own .4 when he originally posted the problem with the one he downloaded. that one was the same thing. it was pretty clear the model wasnt right. the left and upper wall that werent slicing were thinner by .02mm
one thing to remember here is that a .4 nozzle doent extrude at .4mm. its always a little higher due to die swell. this is why when you set s3d to auto it is always bigger than your nozzle. for proper adhesion to the layer below it should be 1.2 times the width or 120% as previously posted.

I wonder how Kisslicer is able to slice the .4mm and actually print .4mm walls. Does is decrease the flow to thin out the extrusion width? I was hoping the software would be able to interrupt these things automatically without manipulating extrusion widths and other settings.
