I believe this was already answered in another topic, but this was an intentional change in S3D V5. We had customers who frequently told us they wanted to be able to enter the relative size increase for the part regardless of any prior scaling. For example, they might use the gizmo to resize the model a few times (perhaps ending up with some arbitrary 132.6% scale), then they would use the model transforms panel and they wanted to make it another 10% bigger. They didn't want to have to calculate 10% of 132.6, they just wanted to enter 110% and hit enter. We had enough people request this, that the behavior was changed in V5.

We will certainly keep tracking this to see if there's interest in bringing back the old behavior. Perhaps there's a way to support both modes in the software in the future.

Well, if you're keeping track.. That was a bad idea. Put it back to pre V5 or add an option to behave like pre V5.

Very bad idea!

Any such "users" would be welcome to post here WHY they prefer that!

Please bring back old functionality!

Yes, please allow scaling values to stay. Like it was previously. At this point I have stopped using V5 and will use 4 until I switch to a different slicer.

The new behavior is stupid, please add a fallback mode.

Yayyyy. Hopefully this works in 5.1

Added an option to display the cumulative scaling percentage that has been applied to each imported model for easy confirmation of past adjustments

Yes - we added a new preference option in Version 5.1 so you can choose how you want the scale percentage for each model to be displayed. By default in V5, every time you scale the model it starts from 100%. This makes it easy to see how much larger you are making the model for that single transform. However, we know a lot of users are entering precise scaling percentages for things like shrinkage compensation and they need to see those exact values always displayed. In Version 5.1 you can now achieve that behavior by going to Tools > Options > Models tab, and enable the option called "Display cumulate model scale values". Now the software will show the total cumulative scaling percentage since the model was first imported. Users can choose whichever mode they prefer.

Thank you for everyone's feedback on this issue. If you want to see some of the other features added in Version 5.1, you can review them here:
