With vase mode don't be afraid to go really thick with the extrusion width. I've done 1.2mm thickness on a 0.4mm nozzle and it worked great. Just keep in mind flow rate issues (i.e., print at smaller layer height to reduce flow rate). A 1.2mm thick vase will be about 2^3=8x stronger than a vase printed at 0.6mm so a little thickness goes a long way.

I thought I had the steps sorted with kisslicer but the vase settings are very well sorted in s3d. Pretty easy to manufacture a lamp shade using this...

thanks for this tip, I am currently experimenting with this setting, the information provided cames in pretty handy
