Re: When will there be an update??

Very curious what features slic3r currently has the Simplify3D doesn't. Care to elaborate?

Slic3r gives you enough time to brew a pot of coffee while it slices, whereas S3d only gives you time to take a sip from a cup of coffee.

Try printing support interface with a second extruder on S3D, you can't. A feature that is so far overdue, it's in a way, pathetic.

The other features only deal with me but Slic3r is a plug and play process when I integrated with my print server. This feature is not something I am looking for when I talk about updates are needed.

Anyway, the point of this post wasn't to determine why I had to switch slicers but rather, what is going on with the S3D team and their lack of communication to those that purchased the software.

I agree S3D is faster but sometimes you need to make sacrifices.

Just like how people give up printing speed when going with a fdm printer verses a polyjet printer, I wish I could afford a polyjet, but I digress.

I'm not sure what you me by support interface. I print ABS & HIPS Support material using S3D as a slicer quite frequently with no problems.

The dense support layers. I use a ton of pva and that stuff isn't cheap. well for me at least. Having a feature to print this dense support layer with a the second extruder loaded with the pva, allows for the bulk of the support to be printed with the main extruder loaded with abs and pla thus saving cost.
