Hi!
now i'm also a 3D FreeSculpt EX2/Malyan M180 owner - i've also some issues using the printer:
* Objects are too small - 2mm smaller than designed (different slicer's - same result)
* Octoprint cant communicate with the printer
* x3d-Files created with makerware caused that the printer drives the extruder to too far to front left
* x3d-Files created with makerware seem to incorrectly drive the z-axis (objects have 10% of height as they should have and a lot of filament is swelling on the corners)
the problems are still present - even after upgrading to firmware 7.8
Does anyone has an advice?
Thanks in advance
Benedikt

You have to use RepG or a custom gpx.ini with Simplify3D Software as the Maylan M180 printers use a different steps/mm for the Z-axis. Also octoprint, as far as I know, only communicates with printers running RepRap style firmware with ASCII communication, whereas Makerbot and the clones have a different communication protocol, so integration with OctoPrint is not currently a vailable.

Hi! Do you have a malyan M180 profile for S3D?
Can you share it?

There is already a profile for the Malyan M180 available in Simplify3D. Just go to Help > Configuration Assistant, and select that printer from the list

Hi, So im using S3D v3.0.2 and i cannot get a few things to work such as:
Fan control - No matter what i set it to it always just runs at 100%
Temp - when setting temps for extruders and bed, it never works and i have to manually adjust temps via the controls panel on the printer. I can get one extruder temp to set to what i want, but Never the bed, always goes to 0.
eg: extruder 1 = Extruder T0
extruder 2 = Extruder T1
heat bed = heatbed T0
Only extruders temps work. If i set heatbed T0 value nothing happens.
anyone know what im on about?

stock setup not working for me, I can get the right extruder temp correct and sometimes the heatbed, but mostly i have to start a job then set the temp manually from the front panel.
Cannot get fan adjustment to work at all, Should be easy i know how it's supposed to work- it just doesnt do anything.
Anyone have anything to offer?

Hello from Ukraine!
Has anybody tried the new firmware samples from
http://wiki.malyansys.com/doku.php?id=f ... _procedure ? Especially interesting is the "Marlin firmware": does it have any new features compared to stock one (except for the promised "
accept plain text GCode") ?
