when a new layer starts the retract does not work properly. to many filament will be pressed out and on each layer bubbles appear.
any idea what can be done?
attached please find a foto and the settings i used for retract (this are the same settings i used on previous versions)

Can you please provide a Factory File for this? We have had reports of issues with retractions in 4.1 but those cases all operated as intended when Force Retraction Between Layers was enabled. It seems this is not the case for your example.

I have found that in addition to force retraction between layers "preform retraction during wipe movement" must also be disabled for retraction to. work properly.

I am also experiencing faulty retraction performance with 4.1. At first I thought it was the Amazon basics filament I was trying out but then have noticed it happening with other filaments as well. The symptoms are random spots where retraction repeatedly does not happen when it should and nasty strings and cobwebs are being left. In some cases it starts to cause filament being dragged around making the print look very bad. Here is a link of a zip with my factory file and an image of one of the places of suspect.

Thank you for reporting this issue and posting your screenshots! We are happy to announce that Version 4.1.1 fixed the bug with retractions when the “force retraction between layers” option was disabled. You can find more information on our Release Notes page here:
