''Choose start point closest to specific location'' problem

For some reason the option ''Choose start point closest to specific location'' isn't always working correctly in version 4.1.1.
I've read somewhere on the forum that another user also had this happen and that version 4.0.0 doesn't have this problem.
Sure enough, I have reinstalled that version and the seam alignment is as the setting should work.
Is there an update to the version 4 series as we were told? Then I hope this will get fixed, or else in V5

The post I read spoke about version 4.1.2 as also not working like it should, can anybody confirm this always works for them?
I'm using this to print lithophanes and the seam should be in a specific place to not mess up the model. In 4.0.0 it works as expected.

I'm using the latest version, and I use this feature quite a bit. At least with regular 3D models & printing, it's always behaved as expected for me.

Another experience: It seems to snap to certain features and I can't get it to start exactly where I want.

Yes I saw that, too. The seam snaps to a nearest ''protrusion'' which could be fine but to have the option and choose how the seam is placed is always nice.

I'm also using this feature quite often, so far I didn't encounter any bad surprises I can remember of. Anybody happen to
have a factory file showing an example?
Tested this with 4.0.0 and 4.1.2, all niceley aligned to 0, 0 (lower left), seems to work as expected!?
