Simplify3D User Forum

Hi my name is malc and I have just bought the ctc replicator and have just bought the simplify 3d software,i keep getting an error when I try to connect by usb I am running windows 8.1 on a HP laptop , I get permissions error connecting to port \\.\com4... is there another application already connected to this port error opening selected port.
I only have a mouse connected to another port on the laptop, and if I use the Makerbot software I can connect to the 3d printer ok? can anyone help with this?

It's probably because your makerbot conveyor service is still running in the background.

Open MakerBot Desktop, go to Services --> Stop background service.

Many thanks joej sorted it out right away , I was worried it was because I had usb 3 ports, I will most likely use the card most of the time as it free,s up the computer to do other things, I just wanted it to be working bearing in mind I have just bought the software lol.
