Top surface infill problems on V3

Since upgrading to V3 I have noticed two things with my printer.
The first is that my direct drive extruder seems to skip steps when I am using S3D for a print, I am not getting this problem with kisslicer. With the exception of the second problem I am having the prints turn out fine, I'm not 100% sure whats going on here.
The second problem I am having is that the top layer is leaving gaps around holes, as you can see in the attached picture. I cannot see how any settings could be causing this but does anyone have an ideas? The printer prints fine when using KISSlicer but I get this problem with S3D.

For 1, turn down the xy movement speed. For my printer, default is 18000. Turn that down to 9000-12000. Also turn on some vertical lift. 0.2 mm is usually good. I dont know your printer or firmware. But skipped steps come from a whole list of different items. The above will cover the more common issues. If marlin firmware the arduino compilier version will cause skips also. You need 1.5.5 or below.
For 2, increase your outline overlap in the infill tab.

I am using a cubex that I have converted to a ramps/marlin system. I am running the 1.1.0 RC build.
1. Are you talking in mm/sec or mm/min for these measurement. Currently I print at 50 mm/sec. Just so we are 100% on the same page, I am only getting skipped steps on the extruder. I will try adding some vertical lift. Prior to upgrading to v3.0 I did not have skipped steps on my extruder. I also do not get skipped steps with other slicers.
2. I will try this/.

So, I was having a very similar as this. The way I was able to get the infill gap at holes and other perimeters to close up was increasing infill overlap. However, my extruder and Z would miss steps and/or entire layers. The reason, as I found for my machine (Robo R1), was airflow for cooling the stepper motor drivers.

I am having a similar issue with my Lulzbot Mini. It seems like the printer is just ignoring all but one top and bottom layer of my build. The sides and interior are otherwise perfect.

Check your settings for the number of top and bottom solid layers. It looks like you may only have 1 top layer and no bottom layers. If that's not the case, please also post your factory file so we can see your settings (file > save factory file).
Also, you may want to try going to Other tab and decreasing the "Solid Infill Underspeed", which will slow down the speed for the top layers. This frequently helps them print better.

That is 6 top layers. I've also noticed when auto leveling, the printer drives its head into the front two washers, then proceeds to print on a slant. How do I fix this?

Auto leveling is handled by the firmware. So you would need to adjust firmware settings for that (or move the washers

)
