Hi all i have aproblem with my Wanhao D6 and S3D. If i start a print the printer heat up, home axes, extrude filament and now retract so much that when the print starts no filament is in the printhead. on large objects with long outlines it is no problem but with small parts it sucs. The printer do this with te original firmware and the marlin firmware. With the original slicer (c***) he don“t.

This is the start code from S3D :

G28 ; home all axes
G92 E0 ; zero the extruded length
G1 Z10 ; lower
G1 E20 F200 ; purge nozzle quickly
G1 E10 F60 ; purge nozzle slowly
G92 E0 ; zero the extruded length again
G1 E-1.5 F400 ; retract
G1 X170 Z0 F9000 ; pull away filament
G1 X180 F9000 ; wipe
G1 Y20 F9000 ; wipe
G1 E0 ; feed filament back

I solfed that problem with pressing the the filament release when the extruder retracts but thats not a good way because it clamps the x and y axes a little bit.

I hope someone can help me.

Well you can edit the starting gcode to whatever you want. Just pick the lines you want to add/edit.

If you're new to gcode, it's explained very well here:

Lol. ok i know that and i understand the a little bit what this Code do. In school i learned Dialog 4 and it is nearly the same. I testet arund a little bit even delete the retraction, but nothing helps. And i can not it see any Command that say the Printer he have to do this. Maybe some wrong with other settings i dont know. Or it is a bug in s3d. Maybe some one know that Probleme

I Think it have to do with the absolute or relative Mode of the extruder but i am Not sure

Try changing the retraction distance in the software.
