Re: Configuring a new Taz 4

Ok, got it. I found the issue before I looked at the taz 4 printer profile. The problem was the Origin Offsets - I had 150, 150 and they should be 0,0. Works like a champ now, thanks.

Re: Configuring a new Taz 4

Thanks for the video link and info. I haven't quite wrapped my head around the differences between FFF profiles and Factory files and Processes. I do save the FFF profile when I see it marked "modified" but have been perplexed why making a change to infill percentage would mark the FFF pro...

Re: Configuring a new Taz 4

How can I do that? I am not sure how to manage multiple printers from S3D without hosing what I've done for an existing printer. Currently I am running an instance on Linux for 1 set of deltas, windows 7 for another 2 deltas and OS X I'm trying to configure for this Taz. Is there a way to switch bac...

Re: Configuring a new Taz 4

I don't use Marlin, I am running with the latest Repetier and a Cyclops hot end because Marlin does not support the FSR auto leveling system I built or the mixing capabilities in firmware for the dual in-one out Cyclops hot end. I know the issue is not the firmware. If I refresh the Marlin firmware ...

Configuring a new Taz 4

I'm having a problem with print location and after several hours of searching and testing is driving me nuts. I've configured for a Taz 4 Cartesian printer using the basic parameters from Repetier host (which works correctly). I see my model in the center of the bed in S3D's window but when I print ...

Re: Odd spurious diaphragm issue

Hmm, oddly, I just ran the part through my desktop NetFabb and it reports no issues. I am in the middle of printing a bunch of parts so I can't try your fixed factory until later but I'll take a look. Meanwhile, I was able to remove both artifacts by changing the layer height to .20001 (or whatever ...

Re: Odd spurious diaphragm issue

Intersting, I ran my STL through Rhino when I made it and it checked clean. I also checked it in S3D and it did not report errors nor did KISS. I didn't try netfabb because these others reported ok. What did you find in the file?
Thanks,
Michael

Odd spurious diaphragm issue

See attached factory. The hole up the middle is supposed to be clear but as you can see S3D inserted odd "diagrams" in several places. The one at the 3rd layer is just an entire shell, no recognition of the central hole at all. The one at player 13 has it's own perimeter, like S3D put a si...

Re: 1st and last concentric shell layer seam hiding?

Well, there is a workaround for the brave of heart and those with intestinal fortitude. Read on... Simplified version, I'm doing something a little more complex to get a wider concentric band at the perimeter of the disk and a different effect near the center: Basically, I edited my model so the fir...

Re: 1st and last concentric shell layer seam hiding?

Thanks for the reply. For your context, you may be correct. For my context, having the defects spread around is a better solution. I have hand rolled first shell concentric fill on KISSlicer output and the result was excellent. I actually moved the new start point 10° - not randomized although I thi...
