Re: Version3.1.1 Any improvements from requests?

I will happily pay for each major version upgrade. I already pay upgrade or subscription fees for my CAD software, so why not for the other major component of the tool chain. PROVIDED, Simplify3D is continuing to push the boundaries of what we can do with FDM 3D printing.

Re: Version3.1.1 Any improvements from requests?

Underwhelming release for sure, but it is only a minor version number. Let's hope this is because they are working so hard to rock us with 4.0.

Re: Missing part of layer for certain layer height

I'm going to tentatively say that this bug has been fixed in V3.1. I sliced a model in V3.02 that displayed missing layers and then the same model with identical settings in V3.1 and no missing layers. Won't know for sure until I use it for a while. Can anyone else report?

Re: Missing part of layer for certain layer height

The missing layers part seems to be worst in the latest version but the extra partial layer problem has been around for a few versions at least. I'm glad it is easy enough to work around but I would call this a high priority bug that needs a resolution in the next release. Have people emailed S3D di...

Re: Missing part of layer for certain layer height

I have been seeing this a lot lately also. It's definitely a bug and not model error.

Re: Solid platforms collapse on low infill - option to outli

NoahHornberger, a decent workaround for sure, but also wastes time and plastic. This problem is coming up for me as I push into larger and larger objects where printing a few extra solid layers can easily add an hour to the print time. The other potential solution is if S3D gives us something simila...

Re: Slicer behavior for thin walled sections

I agree with the general consensus. More choice = better. I will just stress that the user should be warned in some way that this will impact dimensional accuracy. It is imperative that we can trust S3D to create accurate parts when we need them. Pixel3Design is correct in that you can fudge it with...

Solid platforms collapse on low infill - option to outline

When printing with low infill, partial solid layers, or what I call platforms, can collapse at the edges because the low infill doesn't provide enough support. A simple solution is to add an option to outline before printing the platform. This would be similar to how a bridge works, by providing a p...

Re: Feature request: Seperate retract/recover speed controls

+100 for this feature . I posted it almost a year ago so I'm glad to see it come around again and get so much support. I vote for both: implementation of G10/11 and a separate prime speed setting in the slicer. As others have pointed out, the logic is simple, it's all about nozzle pressure: You wan...
