Back again. CTC support in Simplify3D

So, way back when I first started using Simplify3D, I noticed that the dimensions were off by a lot on my CTC printer. After quite a bit of research, I determined that Simplify3D ignored the steps/mm settings in the firmware configuration dialog. I instead had to concoct a way to load gpx.ini for it...

Holes in your models?

If you are printing small parts and you keep noticing holes in very small detail, the setting you want to change is the Minimum Infill Length. Default is 5mm, meaning no infill will be generated for anything less than 5mm. That's a lot for small models and will result in holes. It saves time when pr...

Re: Simplify3D Tech support?

I did read the sticky and I did send them an email. That is not my point at all. It's not just about 'my' problem. It is problems many people are having. Many of the same problems. We are the customers. Companies don't get to demand how customers will interact with them; not if they want to survive....

Simplify3D Tech support?

Is the Simplify3D team relying on users to troubleshoot each other's problems? I would expect this from free open-source software, but for $150 software? There are pages and pages of requests for help in this section and half aren't even responded to at all, and none are responded to by Simplify3D. ...

Help - Model color and preview is black

I am not sure exactly what causes this, but repeatedly the color of imported models ends up black regardless of what I set the colors to. I *think* I fixed it last time by deleting the configuration file and setting it back up. That was in the prior version of Simplify3D and I think the newest versi...

Re: Feature Request: Do not have menus open center screen

A better way IMO would be to have the window remember its position upon closing, that way users with lower screen resolutions will still benefit. Definitely. BTW, there are programs out there that will do this for you. I used them before on a small tablet. I think it was called autosize (just one p...

Re: Wanhao newbie & question

So that I didn't need to use any clips (and help with heat transfer and leveling), I purchased a 1mm thermal pad which I put between the glass and heated bed. The thermal pad is naturally tacky and after a few heat cycles, the glass is not going anywhere without a bit of tug.

Re: How to set the fillamnt fan on a CTC printer

No. I learned that the numbers entered into the Simplify3D dialog are pretty much ignored except in jog mode. I had to create a custom gpx.ini and some other modifications within Simplify3D. I posted the details here: http://forum.simplify3d.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1623. You might want to check ...

Re: How to set the fillamnt fan on a CTC printer

http://i.imgur.com/5O1XK9Q.png That was my order from Mouser. You don't need the last item. That's the FET you already installed for the fan. You need 1x PCA9533 and 1x 74HC3G14DC and 3x of the FDV301N FETs, but I ordered a few just in case I messed something up. You will also need 3x 100K resistor...

Re: How to set the fillamnt fan on a CTC printer

I added the major RGB circuit components. I forgot to print the schematic and bring it with me, so I haven't installed the resistors yet. Staple parts, so I have them. I'll get them on the next pass as well as the header. It turned out that the original part I ordered fit just fine. Didn't need to o...
