Wanhao newbie & question

Hi all,

just got my Wanhao D4s today and getting to know this printer after using a XYZ Printing Da Vinci. Wow what a difference in print quality and the bed is so much easier to calibrate.

Anyhow I have the glass bed on the Wanhao with the bulldog clips and my first print with Simplify3d move the print heads to the front left whilst heating and then dragged them over the bulldog clips.

Obviously I want to stop that from happening any suggestions please?

Regards

I find the bulldog clips to be useless. Most of my prints fill my D4 bed, so the clips simply don't work.

I print on Scotch brand painters tape, so I just leave an inch or two extra and wrap them around the bottom, works great.

Here's a print I did recently.

So that I didn't need to use any clips (and help with heat transfer and leveling), I purchased a 1mm thermal pad which I put between the glass and heated bed. The thermal pad is naturally tacky and after a few heat cycles, the glass is not going anywhere without a bit of tug.

Thx guys.

I am now using the tape like you suggested and wrap it under the bed.

Next question how the hell do you get your prints off, I even tried soaking it in water and it was still pretty tough.

WARM water!

And I use a filet knife on big, flat objects to 'get it going' but once you have a small gap and warm water goes in, it should be pretty easy.

Speaking of which, I have a print soaking...
