I feel ya. They have a Linux version but it doesnt work if you use their installer. And like you said running as 'root' is simply stupid. Yes it’s a raspberry pi 3. I thought that it could be installed on that No, I do not believe the Raspberry Pi 3 is currently supported. See the tech specs listed here: https://www.simplify3d.com/products/simplify3d-software/technical-specifications/ Hehe, yeah, you don't provide an ARM version.

Hmm. Good info but this does not work for me. So nice of a company to provide a Linux version but not so nice when installations fail on the current version of Ubuntu. I cant speak for Arch but with V4 it never installed a launcher file properly. It has been an issue for a long time, pretty sure I have a 4 year old plus bug report on it.
