Print image preview opposite on print bed...

Hello

My XYZ axis indicator has never worked on my build space. I submitted a bug report a number of months ago without any follow up.

Today, I set up a large, long print that takes up the majority of my build space. Before I initiated the print, I oriented my preview by using the "front" icon so I knew where to apply the glue to ensure proper coverage. The item is "T" shaped and the top of the "T" is oriented at the rear of my build space in the preview.

I initiated the print and low and behold, the print is being laid down opposite to the preview. The top of the "T" is now at the front of my build space. I'm not too happy about this because there is no glue where a large portion of the print is and I will probably end up with warping.

Please address this. The preview print orientation should not be opposite to where it actually is printed. It would be nice if my axis display would work someday as well.

Cheers,

John

Re: Print image preview opposite on print bed...

You're the only one I've ever heard of who can't see the XYZ axis indicator in the build space (you do know that there's a toggle for that right?? view --> coordinate axes). Being that you're the only one having this problem, I would be pretty confident saying it isn't a bug with the software. Sounds like a driver/graphics card bug.

If your print is not appearing where it does on the virtual build platform, then you have something wrong with your settings. I've used the software on many different printers and never had that problem. If you click "edit process settings" and then select the G-Code tab, you can edit the options in the bottom right which say "flip build table axis". I'm guessing you either have one of those incorrect, or perhaps your offsets on the machine's firmware are screwed up.

Yes, thanks

I erased my original reply to say that you were right about the settings.

Under machine options, unchecking the "flip build table axis" in the "Y" plane fixed the issue. And suddenly the coordinate axes displays as well. Finally.

I don't know why that option was checked however, I don't remember ever doing that. It must be one of the default settings included in the Da Vinci 1.0 set-up.

edit: So it would seem that it is a setting as part of the generic profile for the Da Vinci 1.0 after all. I shut down S3D, start it up and the check is in the box every time. Good to know.
