Print skirt and brim at the same time?

Hi,

I've recently started printing with ABS after doing PLA only for a few years. Like everyone else I get a lot more warping of the ABS parts. To get by this, I've slathered the glass on my heated bed in ABS juice (ABS dissolved in acetone), which leaves a film of ABS on the entire bed, and that gets parts to stick really well. (I know some people use hair spray, but I don't have the right types, and beginning hair spray research based on the brands I have locally isn't in my time schedule.)

Anyway, the ABS film doesn't fix everything. Some parts warp anyway. I saw improvements when I printed on the ABS film, added a wide brim, _and_ added a tall skirt that is as tall as the part itself (sliced with slic3r), the ideas being that the brim holds it down even better, and the skirt shields the part better against drafts and temperature loss. Unfortunately S3D seems to consider the brim to simply be a skirt at 0 distance. I guess that means I can't get it both ways with S3D, or am I missing something?

Cheers, Ketil

You could add a custom priming script into your starting gcode. That way every print will draw whatever lines you put into that code.

Or with version 3.0, you could just use an ooze shield and a brim together
