Robo 3d r1 printing short in simplify3d

Hi, i have had this software for a while. But when i updated my firmware for my robo 3dr1 i began having issues with simplify3d. When i print in simplify 3d everything prints squished in the z axis (up and down) and the prints are not nearly as nice as once before. While if i print in the stock program it installs with (matter control) everything seems to be fine.

How do i go about fixing this issue?

Attached are pics of two 20mm cubes the one on the left is a print using matter control which is a bit smoother and the correct height, on the right is a print using Simplify3d and is shorter and had deeper ridges.

Hmm.. well I have no idea what would be causing the cube to be shorter. You just send it raw XYZ coordinates, so I don't know how the firmware could print different sized cubes from two files that have absolute XYZ coordinates in them. Are you sure the z-axis wasn't slipping on the S3D print?

Might also be helpful if you post the two gcode files, one from each program, so we can help you pinpoint differences

Re: Robo 3d r1 printing short in simplify3d

If your print is printing short, there is a good chance you are underextruding. Try creating 4 processes each having .05 added to the extrusion multiplier, so process1 should have 1.05, process2 1.1, process3 1.15, and process 4 1.2

Then print 4 cubes, ensuring you set each cube to a seperate process and see which one looks best and is closer to the height you are trying to obtain.

Also, verify that you have the filament diameter set the average diameter of the filament of the roll you are using.
