last leyers slicing issue

Hi so I've done a really simple design for some fork sliders for my motorbike using 123d design , i import the STL file into simplify 3d add supports and it all looks good


but after I've sliced it when i move the slider along to see the build process some of the text is missing from the top on the print like its not finished the print
I can't slide the slider anymore to the right so its as if the last few layer are missing ?


Any ideas peeps ?

It looks like it's really thin text. Perhaps it's too thin for the nozzle diameter of your printer. If features are smaller than the extrusion width from your nozzle, the software can't print them, so they won't show up in the preview.

Well i printed them off with a light infill so as to speed up the process as these are my first attempt and they have came out exactly like the sliced version
The "675 " as came out but the "street triple" part has bits missing and the left hand print has no text on it at all , but as you can see the tex is fine on the 3d model before slicing ? any ideas ?

sounds like the lettering is too narrow.

if you change either extrusion width and or nozzle width and try again you will find on the preview that it will come out.

can't say by how much but just try it to see what happens.

when designing for 3d printers you need to consider the nozzle width a 0.4mm won't print a wall that is 0.3mm thick.

thanks for your reply , that makes sense , i will rework them a bit and see if i can get better results
