[BUG] Buildplatform size wrong.

I own a delta printer (kossel mini style) and I'm having issues with the platform size.
I choose the default kossel mini configuration and got a standard build platform this is what S3D has as standard values:
Build Volume X: 170
Build Volume Y: 170
Build Volume Z: 240
Origin Offset X: 85
Origin Offset Y: 85
Origin Offset Y: 0

This seems correct to me since the diameter off the platform is 170 mm.

In S3D the displayed platform is 240 mm in diameter, I already found an old bug report for 2.xx in which it was suggested that the inner square of the circle needs to be used. Some one should clarify this and fix the default configs if that is the case or better yet allow inputting a radius for delta printers not x and y values.

Here a picture to clarify in red marked the actual size.

Re: [BUG] Buildplatform size wrong.

The X and Y build volume is not the diameter of the plate. It is the largest square that will fit inside it. So just change your X and Y build volume to 0.7071*170mm = 120.2mm.

Re: [BUG] Buildplatform size wrong.

The above proposed is but a workaround, not a solution. Using the inner square is not a valid approach for delta type printers, as some of these indeed have a circular build area. The inner square would cut off too much of it, reducing the printer's usability. Since I also have a delta printer, I'd rather like to see a clean implementation of a cylindrical build volume.

Exactly a workaround is not a bug fix also I wish there was a more effective way of reporting a bug like Jira.

Re: [BUG] Buildplatform size wrong.

It's just a difference of how S3D defines the build volume. They still allow you to print in the entire circular area, so you aren't losing any functionality. I have several deltas and print on the entire circular plate all the time. However, keep in mind that many deltas can't reach some portions of the circular plate since the arms can't get too close to the towers.
