Wanhao D4s settings for PLA

I'm having problems since using this simplify3d from makerbot. I'm getting poor quality prints and zits on them as well. Does anyone have any settings which I can download and import direct for the FFFF settings. I'm using PLA. I can tweek bed and nozzel temps. Any help will be greatful.

I had staring problems also.

This is the best factory file with settings for the 4S I'm using now.
It is for the left extruder, so choose the right extruder is this is your PLA extruder.
Tell me if your'e prints are better now.
Have them also voor ABS, Ninjaflex, and PETG

Re: Wanhao D4s settings for PLA

Hi, thanks for the reply. I have tried these settings but the makerbot software makes the items in half the time and better quality. Interesting thing is that these items did turn out better than so other settings I have tried, but got lots of zits. What is your setting for the nozzel distance to the bed? I'm also getting the filament building on the nozzel sometimes which sticks to my print and starts the zits off. And what temp do you print your PLA at? I'm doing 210, went down to 190 and the model was brittal so I'm stick at 210 at the moment. I'm also using the genuine wanhao filament. Thanks.

The temp settings are in the factory file.
Mostly I start at 230 on the first layer with PLA and the second and beyond at 220 degrees.

What are zits?

Re: Wanhao D4s settings for PLA

Hi,

Ofcourse, but I am not at home at this moment.
You can print with the same settings as PLA with the following adjustments:
- Speed: 20mm/sec everywhere, so first layer speed 100%, infill, bridges etc. 20% for a constant flow
- retraction: zero
- temperature: first layer about 230C then dropping to 220C
- heated bed 40C

Most important which took me many hours and also not in the settings on the Ninjaflex site:
Don't use the load filament option! If you do it starts well, but because of the speed which is way too fast, the ninjaflex will bend in the extruder and jamming around the gear. Because of the flexibility that can take a few minutes and you have a big mess :)
What I do is use a brim of 10. Then after the purge, insert the ninjaflex filament and wait till it extrudes the old filament out off the nozzle en the flow of the ninjaflex is good. Then cancel your print, remove everything from the bed and start your print again. Now, certainly after the brim has completed, all goes smooth.

I print every material on kapton tape, so also Ninjaflex. Before every print I clean the kapton tape with a tissue with aceton to get a good adhesion level.

I see that I posted the wrong profile... PETG in stead of Ninjaflex. Will post the right one when I'm home.
