Parts are printing mirrored in Y axis

I hope someone can help me sort this out because it's starting to get a tad annoying here. :? and I hope I can explain this right. Printer is HICTOP aluminum version.

In simplify the home position shows as what would be the front left on my printer. The actual home position on the printer is back left. To get simplify to match I had to uncheck "flip build table Y axis" in --tools---options---machine, and also in the G code section in the process settings. The issue tho is that everything now prints mirrored on Y axis. I have to manually mirror mesh Y axis on every single part to get things to print right.

What am I missing here. Is their any other setting somewhere to get things not mirrored to start with and still keep home location where it should be?

Thanks
Rick

Re: Parts are printing mirrored in Y axis

If they are mirrored in real-life, then that means that your "flip build table axis" settings are wrong. Either the X, Y, or Z settings that you currently have are incorrect.

Re: Parts are printing mirrored in Y axis

Thanks. If I forget to mirror the part on Y axis the parts will print out mirrored. The stock setting in simplify has "flip build table Y axis" checked in both ---tools---options and in G code. I had to uncheck both to get it to match the printer.

I had the printer set up originally to match simplify but I didn't like having the home location on the front. I think I am just going to put it back as it was so I don't have to worry about it.

Thanks

Re: Parts are printing mirrored in Y axis

You don't get to "choose" where the home location is. That is pre-determined by your firmware. So you can't just randomly flip the build table axes as you wish. Each machine already has a set value for those options which cannot be changed without modifying the firmware.

If you flip them and then the print is backwards, then you should not have flipped them in the first place. In general, you probably shouldn't mess with that setting unless you have really good reason to do so

Re: Parts are printing mirrored in Y axis

Thanks again. I reconfigured the printer back to the original setup.

I ended up adding a extra g code to the end script to bring the bed forward at the end of the print. Seems to be working and much easier than remembering to mirror things. I just wish I would have thought about the g code sooner lol.

Hell, I have exac;tly the same problem. Can You say me which G-code You use, or doing screenshot. The axis flipping also doesn't help me.

Re: Parts are printing mirrored in Y axis

If the bed end stop is at the back of the machine then the "Flip Build Table Axis Y" should be checked. X and Z leave unchecked. The printer will home to front left.

The ending script I am currently using is

G91 ;set relative positioning
G1 E-1 F300 ;retract the filament a bit before lifting the nozzle
G1 Z10 ;lifts the nozzle off of the print
M104 S0 ;extruder heater off
M140 S0 ;hot bed off
M106 S0 ;extruder fan off
G28 X ;homes x to access print bed
G1 Y260 F1800 move print bed to front
M84 ;disable motors

Change the Y260 to match the size of your Y axis.

Thanks! Will try.
