Multi-Process Bug?

The Goal:
I have a model that has been split into 2 sections, as the upper section must have a different infill than the lower section. The 2 process are the same except for infill and Skirt/Brim (turned off for Upper)

Image

The Problem:
1) The skirt/brim does not print
2) The print cooling fan turns on as soon as the print starts, (set to start on layer 5) but then turns off after the 1st or 2nd layer.
3) The HBP temp is using the wrong temp. Set to 100c for first layer then down to 90c on 2 layer. It's starting with 90c.

I'm sure I'm setting this up wrong, but I can't find any instructions for the proper way to make this work.

The Question:
Is this possible, and if so how can I get it to work? :P

Hi

Its best with this sort of request for help to attach a copy of the factory file so users here can investigate what the issue is, rather than having to either guess/assume or ask repeatedly what individual settings are.

File menu> Save Factory as> then attach to post.

Ah good point, didn't even think of that..

It's now attached.

Re: Multi-Process Bug?

Hi

Your basic problem is that there's a very small edge sticking down along two of the sides of the shape.Essentially, as far as the slicer is concerned, the base of the shape is not touching the bed ...and hence the skirt is not being created correctly!

Drop the shape down by 0.13mm so the whole of the bottom lies on the bed....and you'll get a skirt....and the very bottom triangular edges will not print.

I also had to switch on the skirt for the top profile.

I've attached the updated factory file.

What you've done will work....but you don't need to split the shape into two sections to get two processes to work. Simply set the lower process to print from zero to say 100mm, and the second process to print from 100mm. These settings are on the Advanced tab of the settings. Look at this tutorial: https://www.simplify3d.com/support/tuto ... f-a-model/

Re: Multi-Process Bug?

Thank you very much, I did not notice that edge in the print preview! Thanks for the link to the other method of accomplishing this task.
